When I give an opinion on a scooter or chair, it's not the opinion of a salesman, it's the opinion of someone who uses and understands what it's like to use mobility scooters and powerchairs. I'll get straight to the point; The Tramper Mark 2 is, by a considerable margin, the most capable, best built, best designed and best engineered all terrain scooter I've ever used! And I've used a lot.

Read that first sentence again if you would...... The Tramper is THE BEST in every category.

I come across scooters that are very nicely finished, but will last about 5 minutes; others that are as heavy as tanks, but so complicated you'd need a PHD to work on them, but the Tramper is just superb in every respect. Most scooter manufacturers now have an'off roader' in their range. They are usually bigger, brasher looking versions of their smaller brothers; normally lots of plastic, fancy dashboards, LED lights and bigger wheels; they look decent and they generally perform reasonably well. The Tramper however comes at things in a different way. This is a'from the ground up' off roader. You see a lot of cars now that look like Lnd Rovrs. They're big, high, beefy looking things, that have a'degree' of off road capability , but are really much more about the show than the go. If you tried to do any serious offroading in them, you'd either get stuck or break them; probably both. If you've ever done any off roading in a'Real' off roader, then you'll appreciate what I mean. Lnd Rovrs, not Discovries and the like, can perform seemingly impossible off road feats without missing a beat. The Tramper has that kind of capability. Any of you who have read any of my listings / reviews before, will know that I'm always going on about wheel size and what a difference it makes and the Tramper is a prime example. Most other manufacturers off roaders have 6 or 8 inch wheels with'fashionable' low profile tyres. The Tramper has 8's at the front and immense 14 inch wheels at the back and the tyres are nice slim high profile ones, like you'd find on a trials motorbike. One of the biggest'on road' tests for a scooter is curbs. Very Very few scooters can handle a full sized 4 curb. The Tramper goes up them like they were hardly there; it's SO easy. That's the thing with the Tramper.

Everything you encounter is SO easy. It will actually climb even bigger curbs; The specs say 5 AND it will climb 1 in 4 hills (25%) and will also handle 25% angles. There are very few situations that you will ever find that a Tramper won't be able to handle. While we're talking spec's; you also get a 25 stone weight capacity and the big batteries give you up to a 30 mile range.

Let's talk about the design. I've mentioned the wheels. The steering and the suspension also deserve a big round of applause. Probably the nearest competitor to the Tramper is The Aztc Mayn. For those of you who don't know it, it's a very'beach buggy' like scooter with long travel suspension and a big powerful motor.

I've had one and they are good. If you want to go as fast as possible off road, then they are probably the scooter of choice, BUT if comfort, climbing ability, agility and sheer solidity are important too, then the Tramper really is streets ahead. Tramper talk a lot about the design of their steering and suspension and how it's been designed to cut out'bump steer' and'kick back' and they are spot on. The Tramper's steering is light years better than the Mayn's. The other big difference is the quality of design and construction.

They are built to last 20 years and still keep going! They've refined the design over the years, this being the Mark 2, but the fundamentals were right when they first designed it and they still are now. Like I said, great design and great engineering. Tramper's are not just workhorses though, although some people use them as that, with trailers being a popular accessory; they're also great fun!

If you've ever off-roaded on any other scooter, you'll know that you are constantly concerned about getting stuck, not having enough ground. Clearance, or breaking something underneath.

It makes the whole experience stressful. The Tramper takes that away. You feel indomitable on it, like nothing can stop you, which, short of a rock face, it probably won't! It's so relaxing knowing that your transport isn't going to let you down and that you can go most places that able bodied people can and often some that they can't! One of the things that'newbies' to mobility scooters often tell me is how great it is not having to rely on someone else to get around.

The Tramper gives you that feeling, but allows you to go to places and travel on terrain that you probably thought you'd never be able to again. It's a real,'sense of freedom' vehicle. I've used one before in a full off road situation and the other thing I found was that I was deliberately trying to find the hardest way to get somewhere just so I could have fun on the Tramper and test it out! Childish I know, but just because you're disabled doesn't mean you can't have fun does it?

I haven't ventured off road on this one as it's in such nice condition I don't want to scratch or mark it. It really is in very nice condition, (check the pictures), especially the ones of underneath. This one, as you'll see on the photo's, is very tidy indeed and looks almost like new underneath indicating very little use and that it hasn't been used on difficult or rocky ground where the underside would get marked. It's an early Mark 2 model, manufactured in 2007 and had just one lady owner from new. I acquired the Tramper direct from the original owners as the lady owner is no longer with us. She used the Tramper occasionally and latterly it has been dry stored in her heated garage. I guarantee you will not be disappointed with it. Batteries are top spec MK 75 ah and have been tested and passed on our Professional Discharge Tester. Unlike the basic voltmeters used by some sellers, which tell you nothing other than that the batteries are 12 volt, our tester simulates a full discharge of the battery and tells us the actual amp hour capacity. So, a lightly used and well looked after example of an amazing scooter. If you enjoy (or used to enjoy) getting off the beaten track, then you will LOVE the Tramper.

It will take you almost anywhere you want to go in comfort; you'll have a blast using it; and the quality of the thing means that if you look after it, it will be your faithful companion for not just years, but decades to come. I also need to mention the service from Tramper. This is a company that really cares about it's products and it's customers. Unlike many companies which stop support for their products after as little as 5 years, Tramper still support scooters they made 20 years ago.

Ring them up and you don't get a marketing department, you get the people who design and build them. When you're spending a substantial sum on a scooter it's really reassuring to know that should it ever require repair in the future, Tramper will be there to support you. It comes complete with Factory fitted rear rack / carrier, high level / high visibility'beacon' light, Tramper rear bag and high capacity mains charger. A few examples of comments from customers are shown below. What an amazing customer service and excellent item thank you so much.

Really pleased with the scooter... UK mainland buyers only please. If you're not, contact me and I'll see what I can do. This ensures that your scooter or chair arrives with you safely and even more importantly keeps you safe too. , costs to deliver to these more'remote' locations.

Plus, I charge a lot less than the big carriers. It's also nice to know that your chair or scooter has reached you in one piece! Not something you can always be sure of with couriers! I would rather do that than sell an unsuitable item to you. Mobility Scooters and Chairs come in a HUGE variety of different types and sizes and people do too, so matching one to the other requires knowledge and experience.
