Restoration project, no time to complete but well worth it. Of the two, I'm happiest if the cosmetics are good, because generally the mechanical side can be done pretty easily, whereas, particularly on a'classic' scooter like the Batricar, getting things like the sidescreens or a windscreen can be very difficult.

This is cosmetically the best example of one of these rare scooters that I have seen. It really is exceptionally good. The sidescreens are both there and the zips are good. Front and rear screens are both good with no cracks.

The seat is good with no tears or rips. The bodywork is also good with no obvious signs of repair or filler. The whole thing is really nice and very original. It doesn't have that'damp caravan' smell that many old cabincar scoots have; if you didn't know, other than the very'eighties' styling, you would think it was only 4 or 5 years old.

It comes without batteries and the motor is out of it and clearly needs a replacement. The gearbox appears to be free and everything seems to be there. We haven't powered it up electrically but I would be surprised if there is much amiss there; they're pretty simple things. I've seen Batricars go for 4 figures and they're not in anything like as great condition as this one. I would love to have the time and energy to do it myself but I haven't and we really need the space, hence the sale. Whilst I don't believe it will cost much or take that much time to fix, i. T may need very little doing, it may need more. It's a lovely old thing and I hope it goes to someone who will appreciate it. A few examples of comments from customers are shown below.
