Electron 4000 4kW 48V Heavy Duty Electric Outboard. For sale is a 4kW Electron 4000 electric outboard. This is a very heavy duty unit, made by Intermotor in Poland, and still available from them, with full spares back-up. It was badged as the Electron 4000 in the UK. I bought it for a project, but this did not go ahead due to ill health, so it has only run for one hour. It uses a petrol outboard chassis, so is very tough and robust, with an all aluminium leg and. Low ratio lower unit for extra thrust, and adjustable trim angle. It also has a 16in aluminium prop, unlike the flimsy plastic variety on alternative makes, that break every time they hit a floating twig. The motor is mounted on the top of the leg, so is easy to maintain, and away from any underwater damage. It has a brushless permanent magnet motor, so is very quiet and reliable.

It is tiller steered, but can be set up for remote steering, and has a remote throttle. It would be ideal for river boats up to 28ft, or small canal boats up to 35ft.
