TGA MAXIMO Folding mobility scooter with Lithium Battery. Needs seat assembly

  

When I give an opinion on a scooter or chair, it's not the opinion of a salesman, it's the opinion of someone who uses and understands what it's like to use mobility scooters and powerchairs. This scooter was owned by an exceptionally tall gentleman who decided to modify the scooter to suit him better. He had the tiller assembly professionally altered such that it now has a rake / angle adjustment on it, which has been nicely done and works well. He also modified the seat assembly, somewhat less successfully. Consequently the scooter as listed here comes as you see it in the pictures; IE Without the seat assembly.

Other than that, the scooter is in super condition and appears to have had very little use. It runs perfectly, the battery appears to hold charge well and the cosmetic condition is very nice. The TGA Maximo is one of the best and most popular folding mobility scooters. It's compact and capable, with a long lasting, lightweight lithium battery pack. It's particularly popular with those who like or need to take a scooter on holiday with them, or people who take one in their car.

There isn't much not to like about the Maximo; it even looks great; Very modern and stylish; which is probably why it's popular with younger disabled people too. The Maximo follows exactly the same design as the hugely successful and popular TGA Minimo.

Minimo's are great little scooters but they are pretty'compact'. The Maximo is effectively a Minimo on steroids! It followed exactly the same basic design, (why change a winning formula), except they made it a bit bigger.

The Maximo is about a foot longer and 4 inches wider, which gives about 2 inches more width in the seat and a LOT more leg room. Anyone with longish legs will really appreciate the difference. Whilst you may have fitted on a Minimo, you wouldn't be very comfortable and would look like a jockey on a racehorse.

The Maximo will give you space to stretch out. Even if you're not particularly lanky of limb, if you happen to have either back, hip or knee problems, then the extra space offered by the Maximo will be welcome, particularly when getting on or off, which from my experience in dealing with customers with arthritis etc, is the most difficult bit. Although the Maximo is a lot larger dimensionally; it's actually only about 3 or 4 kgs heavier, which is clever. The Maximo also has advantages over it's little brother in terms of it's capability. Anyone who has read any of my listings before, will know that I'm always rabbiting on about wheel size being the single biggest thing that affects a scooter's capability.

The Maximo's wheels are usefully larger in diameter than the Minimo's which really helps when you want to go places other than the supermarket. The Minimo can mange smooth pavement, but struggles over anything rougher, but whilst the Maximo isn't an off roader it will at least deal with rough pavement and even some unmade surfaces.

Some other useful'extra's are the rear suspension, which takes the edge off bumps and the integrated LED lights, which make late night journeys safer. The Maximo folds in just the same easy, quick way as the Minimo, with no disassembly required. It won't fit in very small hatchbacks, but most mid or larger sized cars will take the Maximo comfortably and in most smaller cars it will fit with the rear seat folded down. The lithium battery pack is the same as the Minimo's and is of course, when we can use them again!

As per the Minimo, the Maximo is great for travelling as it can be folded in one piece in about 5 seconds. You can literally ride up to the departure gate with it and have it ready to go in the hold in a few seconds. It comes complete with mains charger.
