When I give an opinion on a scooter or chair, it's not the opinion of a salesman, it's the opinion of someone who uses and understands what it's like to use mobility scooters and powerchairs. I first started using mobility scooters about 11 years ago when I was diagnosed with M. About 3 years ago I'converted' to powerchairs. I still use scooters now and then but my everyday rides are now powerchairs. For most uses I just prefer powerchairs.

They have SO many advantages. The BIG one is manoeuvrability. Scooters are, putting it politely, a pain in the bottom in supermarkets and shops.

The endless 3 point turns and having to worry about running over other shoppers gets very tiring. Powerchairs however, are a delight for shopping. The ability to spin around in the length of the chair and to drive right up to a shelf or counter makes shopping a pleasure. Access is another issue, particularly important for people with leg or hip problems such as arthritis. With a scooter you have to get your legs past the tiller; with a powerchair you just get straight in.

It's so much easier to transfer. Like scooters, powerchairs come in a variety of sizes and shapes. The Pride Gochair 2 is, as the name suggests, the Mark 2 version of the original Gochair, although calling it the Mark 2 gives entirely the wrong impression as the'2' is a completely new machine with nothing that I know of carried over from the Mark 1. The Gochair 2 is a thoroughly modern powerchair and is better in nearly every respect than its predecessor. I say'nearly' because the original Gochair was more compact and could fit through narrower openings.

Other than that, the Mark 2 is better in every way. The batteries are 50% bigger, giving it 50% more range. It's longer and wider, making it more stable. It will take heavier and larger persons. The seat is wider and more comfortable. The motors are more powerful.

And lastly, the standard of construction is massively superior; this is a seriously well made chair. Whilst the Gochair 2 can deal with a certain amount of pavement use, like most small powerchairs it doesn't like rough ground. The Gochair 2 is in its element when being used indoors, going in the boot of your car to the supermarket, or cruising along well surfaced boulevards. The Gochair 2 is great to use and a breeze to dismantle.

I can literally do it in under 20 seconds and reassembly is just as easy. The seat and riding position are really comfortable.

The controls are easy to use. It really is a great chair. I guarantee you'll be impressed with this great little powerchair. This is a superb chair in exceptionally nice condition.

You will struggle to find a better one. A few examples of comments from customers are shown below.

What an amazing customer service and excellent item thank you so much. Really pleased with the scooter... If you live further away than 200 miles from Lancashire, contact me and I'll give you a price. You are also welcome to collect from our base which is in Mawdesley, Lancashire. I would rather do that than sell an unsuitable item to you.

Mobility Scooters and Chairs come in a HUGE variety of different types and sizes and people do too, so matching one to the other requires knowledge and experience.
